Waterhousea floribunda

This beautiful, gracefully-weeping tree is a native from the east coast of Australia. It is hugely popular and one of the most utilized ornamental Australian natives and is also cultivated all over the world, featuring widely in parks and gardens everywhere. The new foliage comes through pink turning to green and the leaves are lemon scented while the fluffy flower clusters are also fragrant and will bring the smells of the tropical rainforest to your garden. The edible fruit is white to pink skinned with pink to purple flesh and tastes like a green apple along which also has a flowery perfume.

Best suited for
A lovely addition to larger gardens or as a potted specimen for smaller areas. If planted in the ground Syzygium Floribunda can become quite a large tree, although not as big as in their natural habitat, perhaps about 6m. Kept in containers this would be less again. Syzygium floribunda can make the perfect windbreak or hedge, or just a magnificent specimen. Well suited to containers in courtyards and outdoor living areas.
The flowers will attract bees, butterflies and birds to your garden.
